Git and Git-hub

I am a Computer Science Student and a developer. Learning new technologies and skills.
What is Git?
Git is a free open-source distributed version control system created by Linus Torvalds and his team while they were working on the development of the Linux Operating System.
Let's understand Git in Lehman's terms,
let's say for example you are working on web development or any other development project that consists of a large no of files and prototypes, you are working on a current file, but now you want to get some features from the previous files so you have to get back all the previous versions of the project and you also have to keep track of all the changes that you have made. this will take a lot of time and effort to do such a tedious task. In the past, we saved our files and projects using zip files and centralized server systems. However, these systems weren't very effective.
Drawbacks Of the Old System:
1)To track earlier iterations of your project, you needed a tonne of files.
2)Sharing files and keeping track of changes made by each person becomes increasingly challenging when teams of people are working on a project.
3)The danger of centralized server damage or failure makes it possible that your entire project will be lost, making all of your hard work useless.
All about Git :
So In 2006 Linus Torvalds and his team build a system that can solve this problem for all the developers around the world.
A version control system is a software development system that manages all the changes to computer programs, documents, large websites, or other collections of information.
Git is one of the version control systems that is used to keep track of and manage all the changes made in any set of files, usually used for coordinating work among programmers collaboratively developing source code during software development.
Git is open source which means anyone is freely licensed to use, study, copy, and change the source code or files in any way. the source code is openly shared so that people are encouraged to voluntarily improve the design of the software. but the programmer has to ask the owner of that account to get access to the private repository.
Key features of Git :
It captures the snapshot: It means that when you are making any changes to the file then it records the change at that particular instance and saves it in the
.gitfolder.Every Operation is Local: Whatever operations you are making are at your computer all the operations are locally performed on your device. after performing all the operations you can push it to your Git Repository.
Git has Integrity: No one else can directly alter any of your data. Every time a file is changed, Git generates a SHA1 checksum. Every file has its unique checksum, which may be compared to another file's checksum using certain tools.
What is Git-Hub?
Git-hub is an internet hosting service that is used for software development and version control using Git. GitHub acts as an interface between git and the user. It allows groups of people to work on the same project and to make changes according to their needs at the same time. It reduces the time and resources needed to work and also help the developers to build their project quickly.
How GitHub Works?
To do anything with GitHub you will need to create an account on the GitHub platform.GitHub uses Repositories or(Repo) to work with your projects.
A Repository is just a folder on GitHub that holds all information relevant to a particular project, such as files, photos, spreadsheets, data sets, and videos, which are frequently arranged into files. When you create a new repository on GitHub, you have the option of adding a README file.
When you are building, projects have many different aspects, and numerous program versions are needed. You can simultaneously edit several different versions of a repository thanks to branching. Your repository comes with a master branch that is the most reliable branch. You can make changes on several different branches before eventually committing them to the master branch.
